2021

  • Joined Alpima as a Senior Frontend Engineer πŸ”

Joined this fantastic team creating the next generation SaaS platform for investment management. Working across multiple different projects, from our main platform used by most of our customers to client specific work for some our bigger investment banking and wealth management companies.

  • Moved back to London πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

New year, new goals and new plans. Decided to come back to London and start a new adventure, once again in the financial world πŸ˜„πŸ€˜ After having worked at a bank and prop-insur-tech startup, I would now dive deep into the Investment Banking world.

2020

  • Started working on Borja Labs πŸš€

As soon as I got to Canary Islands I took some time to sit and enjoy! And then I quickly missed being productive, so while in this sabbatical, I did a lot of self-development, upskilling and freelance work.

  • 6 months on my fitness journey πŸ’ͺ

At around June 2020 I realised I needed to make a big change in my health-related habits, and so, I did. In December 2020, after almost 6 months of work, I decided to post a transformation picture.

  • Moved to Canary Islands 🏝

Not the best time to travel, huh? After 4 years of non-stop work in the UK and a very intense year of covid, I decided to quit my job and in pursuit of light and warmth, in September I left London to spend winter at the warmest place in Europe.

  • Launched Sleam πŸ€–

I've always had a thing for improving processes in teams so I launched a slack app that makes agile retrospectives convenient, efficient and remote-friendly. A unique source of truth for your team's sprint feedback. Check it out!

2019

  • Explored Asia πŸ—Ί

Went on an amazing, eye opening adventure throughout Asia visiting Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Japan. I already loved Asia but now I really want to move there for a while.

  • Joined Acre 🏑

Wanting to get some real life experience inside a very young startup (at an incubator) I joined this fintech startup in it's early days within Founders Factory in London.

  • Graduated University πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŽ“

After 3 amazing years I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science. From studying, to teaching CS at high schools, being TA for some CS modules, working for the university, running societies and events... an overall great experience!

  • Launched Jarvin πŸ‘¨β€πŸ«

Went from idea to hundreds of users and documented the process as part of my dissertation with Jarvin. A platform for attendees and speakers to improve their communication during lectures. Read about it here!

2018

  • Launched Krowspot πŸ“

My friend @rameerez and I decided to spend a weekend building an MVP to validate an idea we had at the Web Summit. We went from idea to excel sheet, to built mvp all while streaming on Twitch (and we even got the frontpage of Science & Technology!)

  • Web Summit 🎀

I won a couple of tickets for this years web summit so I invited a friend and spent a great week of keynotes and adventures in beautiful Lisbon.

  • Launched deckJS πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’»

I developed a Javascript library to easily create beautiful, fast and performant pitch deck looking websites using react, gatsby and bulma. Check it out!

  • Joined Capital One πŸ’³

After a second year of university full of hackathons and always seeing Capital One engineers at them, I got to know them and their tech quite well and so I decided to join them for what was an amazing time!

2017

  • Explored the US πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

I was selected to attend Forbes 30 under 30 Summit as UKs scholar and invited to other events in SF (GitHub Universe and CalHacks) so I spent a couple of weeks exploring Boston and Silicon Valley. Read about it here.

  • Explored China πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³

I decided to travel to China for a few weeks with a friend of mine to put the mandarin I had been learning into practice. The beginning of my love for Asia...

  • Became president of HackSheffield πŸŽ“

One of the first things I did as soon as I got to university was joining the tech / hackathons society. A few months later, I became it's president, managed a large team, raised capital for the society and organised events sponsored by top tier companies and hundreds of attendees coming from all over the world.

2016

  • Joined Apple 🍎

In order to support myself financially, while I studied my first year of university I also got myself a job working in sales at Apple, which was an experience I highly recommend.

  • Started University πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŽ“

I decided to join the University of Sheffield's Computer Science program! Sheffield seemed like a very nice city and the university was one of the top places to study CS in the UK!

  • Moved to the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Took a leap of faith that would kickstart a new stage of my life.

  • Graduated Engineering Baccalaureate 🏫

Eager to start university (I even studied multiple years in one to go through it faster), when I was 16yo I graduated my engineering specialized baccalaureate and started looking into what university to go next.

early days

  • Ran my own web development agency πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸ’»

When I was 8-10 I started learning a lot about HMTL, CSS, PHP and wordpress as a CMS framework. This was the beginning of my web dev journey. After creating quite a few projects for fun I started my own, very profitable, SME website creation agency.

  • My code went to Space πŸ›Έ

I participated in a program called Zero Robotics organised by NASA and the MIT in which we programmed spheres to move in a non-gravity environment and perform certain tasks. Our code ended up being ran on the ISS.

  • Hacking times πŸ”

I had a "phase" around cybersecurity, which involved me obsessing over malware and pentesting. This lead to me attend many conferences and workshops from a young age, and countless hours playing around with Kali Linux.
